Community Involvement
All of our coaches and staff are involved not only with club volleyball, but also have made a investment to grow the game within the local community. In addition to coaching and running the Shenandoah Surge Volleyball Club, our coaches and staff have done or currently do the following:
-
Volunteer Coach at The Jefferson County Recreational League
-
Run beginner to advanced clinics through JCPRC
-
Offer intermediate and advanced clinics for players and public through SURGE during the summers.
-
Offer private lessons to players preparing for tryouts and growing their skills year round.
-
Completed WVSAC training to be able to coach in the public school system.
-
Completed WVSAC referee training to referee volleyball games in the public school system.
-
Work with Asbury Church in Shepherdstown providing volleyball equipment in exchange for practice space in order to bring volleyball to the children and families who worship there.
-
Offer FREE open gyms through the summer and fall for players to prepare for school and club tryouts.

Continuing SURGE Player Support
SURGE supports players year round, not just during the club season.

-
Immediately after the season ends, we begin to offer clinics to advance players' skills and help them prepare for school ball tryouts.
-
We research and provide information on other local clinics and camps for players to continue growing their game.

-
SURGE players get first dibs at registration for ALL of our clinics. The public is welcome, but only SURGE players can register for the first few days and are mostly filled by SURGE players.

-
Coaches and staff can be seen at many of the school ball matches. We want to see how far our players have come and to support them on their journey.

Consistency
Players and parents need to know what to expect and have a level of trust that a club is going to offer what they say they will offer and do what they say they will do. While some changes can be out of our control, we will always stick to a consistent message and not make unrealistic claims in an effort to entice players to come to us.
We will continue to follow our philosophy throughout the season and beyond.
